Language Arts 1-21-14

Tuesday, January 21st, 2014

Today, we listened to a BrainPop on Jack London and took  notes that we can use as evidence to support our claims in the paper we will be writing.  We took the listening quiz and corrected.

We received back our Simple Solutions Test on lessons 41-44;  we were shown how to do test corrections properly.  List the grammar rule or definition of the grammar principle, list what you did wrong, write out the correction fully.  Each correctly completed correction handed in by Wednesday, January 22nd will result in additional points being added.  No late work will be accepted on this assignment.

We reviewed some key vocabulary concepts that students shared from MAP Reading testing and offered Room 205 some suggestions for a successful MAP test tomorrow.

Students who did not finish the Benchmark Exam were given an opportunity to finish.

Holiday figurative language stories were collected.

Homework:
1. Simple Solutions Test corrections
2. Jack London Packet (there are a total of 17 activities -- students should be finishing # 15-16 tonight)
Test on "The King of Mazy May" and "The Story of An Eyewitness" including vocabulary will be on Thursday 1/23/14.  The Packet is due the same day.
3. Continue working on Genealogy reports
