Language Arts 1-10-14

Today we completed a Journal entry where we listed 15 root words, prefixes & suffixes.  We defined them and wrote two examples of each.

We watched a brainpop video reviewing prefixes, suffixes & roots;  we completed a quiz.

We took notes on Etymology and how words come into a language.
We watched a brainpop video and completed a quiz.

We graded Simple Solutions #41 (only Princeton). 

Homework: 1. define 10 vocabulary words
                    2. holiday story using 10 types of figures of speech due Monday
                    3. study your flash cards
                    4. work on genealogy report  (draft of design and typed biography draft due 1/14/14)

Prepare for MAP testing;  go on Compass Learning and other sites to review your reading strategies.
Review root words and their meanings.
