Language Arts:
  Today we took a quiz on our homework reading story, "Ransom of Red Chief."   Our  notes and discussions focused on the Literary technique/device -- irony.  We viewed a video adaptation of O. Henry's story.  We went over our discussion questions and they were collected.
   Our drafts of "I am from..." were collected.
  We received our Simple Solutions Test back and learned how to do corrections.  These are due on Tuesday, 9/15.  Students were given a worksheet to follow.  If they have more corrections than will fit, looseleaf can be used.
   Sheets were sent home for parents' contact information and helpful insights into their child's learning style or insights.  These are being handed in as completed.

   Finish final paper ("Publish") on "We Learned it All in Kindergarten."

If you had difficulty with the Grammar Test, go on www.roadtogrammar.com and complete some of the exercises and quizzes to review.  Retests must be taken before school on Mon, Tues, Weds or after school on Mon or Tues.  Deadline is  9/17.
